Have You Seen Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry, Yet?

Heyo guys! It’s your best buddy, Kat! ๐Ÿ˜€

I saw Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry on Wednesday and it was really cool!! ๐Ÿ˜€ So I’m gonna tell you guys about it, and I’ll try my best to keep it spoiler free.

Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry is about Team Natsu getting a job request from the king of Fiore to recover one of the kingdom’s relics, the Dragon Cry. The Dragon Cry is an artifact that rested in the tomb of the dragons beneath Crocus. It was stolen by Zash Caine, a minster of the kingdom of Stella, to be used for dark purposes (Minor spoiler, but that’s it from there!). As Team Natsu sets off to find the Dragon Cry, Gajeel, Levy, Juvia, and Panther Lily take a job that also resides in the kingdom of Stella.

The movie was really good! It had the Fairy Tail bits that fans love, maybe just one or two scenes that were a bit too cliche, and romantic moments between ships that weren’t shoved down your throat.

The movie takes place after the Avatar arc, and right before the Alvarez Empire arc. For the anime only fans the Avatar arc is right after the Tartaros arc, so don’t freak out because it’s not that long :D. It is recommended that you watch the movie to the end, even after the credits! The placement of the movie may not make much sense to those who have not finished the Avatar arc, for the main cast has new abilities that are shown throughout the movie.

The movie isn’t really filler given the fact that it does have an insertion into the story. It is not a “this happened years after/before where the story is at and it doesn’t really have a place”. It does fit into the story and can be taken as the events in the movie were canon.

That’s about all I have to say, without giving anything away. I do recommend this movie if you are a Fairy Tail fan, and you would have a better understanding if you’ve read the avatar arc.

Hey guys! If you would like to read the Avatar arc check out Crunchyroll. They have the last half of the Tartaros arc to the final arc of the series! You need a Crunchyroll membership though to read the chapters. If you would like to know which books to read to prepare for the movie, start off with chapter 418 in the 49th volume.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you all check out the movie and support Hiro Mashima’s series!
